August & September Round-Up

Playing Catch Up
Lots of pictures so I will try to keep the comments brief

- AUGUST -

A.J.'s Family Fun Center

Claire loved the go-carts.
She's a "metal to the pedal" kind of girl.

Henry loved the idea of the go-carts, but speed is not his thing.
He had Joe practically crawling around the corners.

Camping at Cran-Hill Ranch

A campsite with the Koopmans family.

George enjoyed exploring the wide open spaces

Is anybody else not surprised that Henry was obsessed with chasing the chickens?

Back at the campsite.  Roasting hot dogs for a late lunch.

Claire and Wes playing Go Fish

Eating breakfast on a crisp summer morning.

Time for Pony Rides!

And last stop of the day...the beach for a little splash.

Joe and Casey even ventured out on the paddle boards.

- SEPTEMBER -

Back to School haircuts.

Trying to put on her Game Face

Even a first hair cut for the baby!
He was a bit wiggly, but did pretty well for his first time.

A happy George shows off his new haircut

Back to School Open Houses

Henry's new pre-school.

The playground was a big perk for him.

A project with Claire's new teacher, Miss B.

George ended up in the hospital after an erratic and
very high fever caused him to have a seizure.

After his vitals stabilized we took him home to recover.

First day of school

So excited!

Until we got to the school.
Sweet Henry looked at me with those puppy eyes and whispered "I'm scared".

A big smile finds its way through the nerves as he waits to head into class.

The first day was a success for both kids.

Sleepy boy recovering from the Roseola virus.

A last minute Summer family excursion to Dutch Village.

We had seriously underestimated the fun we would have there.
There was so much to do.  We all had a "cheesey good time".

Dutch dancing!

Several trips around the Ferris wheel with ride-loving Claire.

And the swings.

Finally got Henry on a ride...the Carousal.

Another favorite with the kids!

Our little Dutchman in the schoolhouse

An all-around awesome afternoon.

After a long week at school, a new bedtime record.  Both kids asleep by 6:30!

My birthday weekend in South Haven.  Just what Joe and I needed.
We found sea glass along the shoreline.  Sipped chai tea in a quiet coffee shop.  Watched an amazing sunset.  Admired a rainbow over the town.  Ate a yummy breakfast at Golden Brown Bakery and a delicious dinner at Clementines, complete with a special birthday desert.  Perfection.

Silly "Selfies" with my girl.

Whew!  That's it for now.

July Round-Up

We're back!  After our computer decided to take an extended vacation, it is up and running...for now.  We'll be in the market for a new one soon, but while we have it, I wanted to catch up on our pictures.  So here's JULY.

"Hape Frth of July" -Claire

Waiting with the Stevens family for the parade to begin.

Overisel Fireworks in the evening

Playing cards to pass the time

Awestruck

By far, the best (and longest!) fireworks show we've ever seen.

Camping out at my parent's house following the fireworks.

8 Year Anniversary

One of the highlights of our summer was camping
with our church at Tall Turf Ministries

Joe and I had to chuckle about how George took the opportunity of Henry's mid-trip nap to rub his hair.  Henry is constantly rubbing George's hair because it's "so soft", but George doesn't always appreciate it.

First things first, a dip in the lake.

Turned around for 10 seconds, and the boy is down to his skivvies.

Eating lunch in the lodge

Bounding through the mud puddle

Getting lost on the lake

Soaking in their tubes

Our happy camper

"Creston Campers 2015"

Love this group!

Loaded up and heading home.

10 minutes later.

Cuddles with "Uncle Pauly"

An afternoon out

Sweet Baby Sleep

This is how we roll.

Funny Faces!

Geocaching with the Youngs family.  Studying the compass.

For those who may be unfamiliar with geocaching.
You get a location and set of coordinates, and it's basically a treasure hunt...without the treasure.  Should have been more clear about this to the kids.  I think they were expecting a pot of gold at the end.

Love this kid.

Claire captured this picture on our evening stroll.

Love these summer strolls in our p.j.'s.

May 2020

First bike ride of the year! And George's first time without training wheels! Such a champ! Enjoyed lots of bike rides during quarantine...
