The end of the school year was full of field trips and festivities.
Claire's class went on a field trip to Camp Newaygo. I've been on a lot of field trips over the past four years. This was in my opinion, one of the best. I was so impressed.
All stretched out, the kids set off to build a fort.
Claire was really into it, like a worker ant building its home.
Conquering the rock wall.
The girl was on role, even knocking down her bowling pin during archery.
Best friends
Then the following week I was eager to go to Dairy Discovery with Henry's class.
Started off the morning with a hay ride tour of the farm.
Getting acquainted.
Definitely the highlight of Henry's field trip. He loved feeding his
baby cow and was excited to tell everyone how hungry his calf was.
Enjoying some fresh milk and string cheese. Yum!
Henry and Gryffin
First Grade just won't be the same without his buddy,
but Henry certainly has no problem making friends. He'll do great!
To round out the school year, Joe and I were glad to participate in their annual Field Day festivities.
Our last time walking with Henry's class to the "big kid" school.
Next year, he'll be at the big kid school!
Georgie joins in the fun with some baseball face painting
Water games on a hot day!
Last day of school!
In the Montessori school, students traditionally have the same teacher for three years. So Claire has had Miss B. for first and second grade, but unfortunately, she is moving on, so Claire will be getting a new teacher for third grade. The last day of class, the kids threw Miss B. a surprise party.
Claire and George hid under a table as they waited for her to arrive.
Miss B. addressed the class as they prepared to head outside
for a pizza and ice cream sundae party.
The students enjoyed a lazy afternoon before their full Summer of fun.
